Solution Engineer
Position Overview
About the CTO Office
The CTO Office is a specialized engineering organization that bridges R&D, Product, and Customers, driving deep technical impact across the company.
The CTO Office is the department that owns the customer relationship end-to-end. From building the trust, to designing the technical solution and bringing the cybersecurity depth behind it.
In practice, that means one group carries a customer from onboarding through adoption and long-term value, implements the integrations and use cases their environment demands, and acts as their security counterpart on the hard problems.
The Role
Solutions Engineering is the technical pillar of the CTO Office. It pairs strong engineering expertise with deep customer understanding.
This role combines software engineering, deep product knowledge, cybersecurity expertise and customer-facing aspects to solve advanced customer use cases — and to build the systems that make Clutch consistent, trustworthy, and operable at scale.
As part of your job you'll collaborate closely with CTO Office Engineers, Security Researchers, and Clutch's R&D and Product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Technical Use Cases: Be the go-to technical brain behind the most complex customer scenarios — providing the depth and capabilities that unlock high-impact use cases.
- Operationalizing Consistency: Build the foundation customers trust — every day, at scale. This spans Integration Health, where customers' issues are triaged at the source, and Data Integrity, where tooling validates the reliability of platform data so what we show is always trusted.
- Field Empowerment: Equip our field teams with the insights and tools they need to win, such as internal reporting that surfaces status, key findings and cross-tenant dashboards and CS tooling that supports the daily job of CS.
- Develop Agentic AI Workflows: Design, build, and evolve the agentic AI workflows that operationalize Clutch's intelligence — turning platform insights into automated, high-value actions across customer environments.
- Trusted Technical Partner: Act as a trusted technical partner to customer teams and to our own field organization.
- Collaborate on Innovation: Bridge field insights with product and R&D teams to refine features, detections, and platform capabilities.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in Software Engineering, Security Research, Solutions Architecture, or DevSecOps roles.
- Hands-On Engineering Skills: Python, SQL, and comfort building real production tooling, not just scripts.
- Technical Depth: Solid understanding of Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS ecosystems, and CI/CD environments.
- Agentic AI: Hands-on experience working with Agentic AI and coding agents — including designing, integrating, and building agentic workflows.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills — comfortable engaging both executives and highly technical teams.
- Cybersecurity Expertise: Familiarity with threat detection, incident response, and security posture management practices.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve problems end-to-end in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
Nice to Have
- Prior customer-facing experience in a technical capacity.
- Experience with data pipelines and analytics stacks (Airflow, Spark/DuckDB, Iceberg, warehouse/lakehouse tooling) or BI/reporting infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of Non-Human Identity (NHI) ecosystems — including hands-on experience with identity and access management, secrets management, or machine identity platforms (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Okta, etc.).
- Experience building large-scale, reliable systems (including monitoring, observability, data validation).
- Background in startups or other high-autonomy, technically demanding roles.
Why Join Clutch Security?
- Innovative Environment: Be part of a team that's shaping the future of cybersecurity by addressing the critical challenge of NHI security.
- Modern Stack: We leverage the most modern data stack available, including DuckDB, Spark, Iceberg, and more. Always open to exploring new technologies.
- Growth Opportunities: As a rapidly growing company, we offer ample opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
- Collaborative Culture: Join a team that values customer obsession, extreme ownership, a sense of urgency, integrity, and respect.
